The question is: “Is there a demand?” We’ve got lots of new mixes, including:

It All Goes Down

Window Panes

Last Night On Earth

Start a Revolution

I’m-a-Be Your Lover

We hope that the demand exists for a second album. Work continues on the musical as well. Some very trippy themes, but super accessible. We’ll keep you posted. What we really need is your help to spread the word. So please; tell your friends. Hell. Tell your mom. Tell your teacher. Tell your hairdresser, your bus driver, your boss, your boss’ boss, tell Jimmy Iovine, thell Bonnie F’ing McKee, shout it from the rooftops, take out a billboard…

Cheers, SS

There’s a been a lot of behind the scenes action going on, at Skwirl Central. We’ve nearly completed mixing the next full length CD. We’ve also been approached by MTV, who is interested in running the video for the song “Jeez Louise”. Our fingers are crossed! You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_ClNxSST4M or at www.secretskwirl.com

We heard through the rumor mill, that Sheldon Gomberg was recently spotted at a famous Hollywood eatery (whose name sounds like a certain vine) having lunch with  a guy in a ball cap and dark glasses, who was simply known as “Jimmy”. The meeting was to discuss Secret Skwirl. Who is this “Jimmy”, anyway? Curiouser and curiouser.

Digging more deeply into the Secret Skwirl “found material”, we see a pattern emerging. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that we may just have here, the music for a “rock opera” or Broadway style musical. The story revolves around a young girl and her journey through life, megalomania, delusions of grandeur and her affect on the world. Ya know, typical musical type fare ;-)

Details to follow as soon as we copywrite the “book” portion.

Stay tuned!

So, we’re hanging out in the studio, watching the CMA’s (man there’s an incredible amount of talent in Nashville) when Faith comes on, and who do we see on keyboards? Who I ask ya, who? I’ll tell ya who! Jamie Muhoberac, that’s who! During the sweetening process on the tapes that became “Nothing is Real” (available on iTunes right now!) we had one or two guest musicians; and Jamie played the solo at the end of “All I Want is Some Truth” (available on iTunes!). Did I mention that it’s available on iTunes?

Rumor has it, that a certain Webmaster and guitarist extraordinaire who shall go unnamed, but has a name that rhymes with Stan Lindel, is having a “Not Quite 50″ birthday party, complete with a performance by his cover band, which shall also go unnamed;  but rhymes with Trouble Log Hare. The party and performance (2 sets!) MAY possibly be announced right here, very soon! Will the real Secret Skwirl be on hand? Who knows?

What’s this I hear about Bonnie McKee finding a pumpkin in her pool!!!? First Kim’s marriage comes to an end, now there’s a pumpkin in Bonnie McKee’s pool. Can it be that the next thing in Bonnie’s pool will be Kim K, with a pumpkin in her?

Hey kids! Act now, and receive a free download of “Jeez Louise” by Secret Skwirl” Just go here: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Farielpublicity.com%2F2011%2F10%2F14%2Ftop-10%25C2%25A0-cyber-pr-artists-for-fall-2011%2F&h=wAQFRPz9OAQGRVOzyIH93_PB6jDrDOR2uKqP8yOP6YCLZqg

Sheldon Gomberg was recently approached by a “successful documentary film maker” about the idea shooting a doc that outlines not only how Sheldon came by the “found tapes” but also his current search to assemble a group of musicians to play these songs live. According to Gomberg, “Finding musicians is the easy part. It’s trying to emulate the sound of the vocals that is going to be the real labor intensive piece” Details to follow, as they become available.

So we’ve been looking at songwriters that fascinate us. It’s along list. I mean, sure, you have your Lennon/McCartney, your Jagger/Richards, your Simon/Garfunkle, your Goffen/King, Holland/Dozier/Holland, Smokey, Marvin, I could go on. But how about today’s wicked crop of tune smtihs? Linda Perry, Bonnie McKee, Victoria Shaw, Gaga et al. There’s a lot of talent out there; and that’s both impressive and daunting. Now, if we could only figure out who wrote these Secrewt Skwirl songs.
